Genetsu-ho is a technique that will be utterly natural to all the mothers out there. It is a means to bring down (ge) fever (netsu). In order, use hand positions for forehead, temples, back of the head, neck, throat, crown of the head and stomach and intestines. More attention should be paid to the head positions, perhaps thirty minutes, with 10 to 15 minutes devoted to the intestines.
Please come in and look around. When you're done, please visit our website Healing Hands of Reiki. We'd love to show you what Reiki can do for you.
Hope your new year is filled with love and light,

The Importance of being grounded
Let's face it, when we talk about spirituality and enlightenment we focus on our ability to transcend our earth-bound bodies and commune with whatever variety of the infinite we revere. To my mind, this is the most profound thing we do as humans--aside from bringing into the world and nurturing other humans.
Still, this noble pursuit doesn't change the fact that we are of the earth and without proper grounding you get to the place where I am now. My energy is zinging all over the place. This Thanksgiving I went to check on the sweet potatoes and tore the door off my mother's oven. The glass bowl on my new diffuser just broke for no reason. I dropped a plate last night and it shattered into thousands of pieces. I've never seen that happen before, ever.
So now I am starting a regimen to make sure that energy is well grounded. Every morning and every night I am going to do a few minutes meditation imagining my toes are rooting me deeply to the ground. That's what Lesi suggests. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Imagine That!
I couldn't think of a thing to say today, so I figured I'd borrow some insight and inspiration. The video below was found on Be The Change You Want to See blog. Beware: audio included. Enjoy!

Reiki on the run, sorta
Looking for some basic information on reiki in one compact place? Try Authentic Insight. I found these folks through a recent Carnival of Healing. By the way, we'll be hosting another one on March 1. We'll remind you closer to the date in case you'd like to participate.

Try it. You'll like it.
Tooling around the internet, I found this post from Reiki Blogger on the topic of distant healing. I particularly like this tidbit explaining sending distant reiki to yourself sending distant reiki:
This will help you stay clear and centered while you are sending reiki and will also pacify any potentially intense clearing symptoms that may arise from the healing session. As distant healing is a good way of dealing with emotional issues, and past situations, this is very likely.
Hope you check out the rest of the article as well.

Be Careful What You Don't Wish For
I have been reading Diane Stein's Essential Reiki Teaching Manual, a gift from our little (or should I say younger) sister. While there are a few areas so far in which I find myself disagreeing with what Ms. Stein has to say, there's one thing agree with her unequivocally--in order to be a healer you must first heal yourself. To that end, I've been trying to improve my own health. My program began in 2007 when I was finally able to quit smoking.
Since then I've been eating healthier, even though any real weight loss has eluded me. But for the most part I'm feeling a lot better, eating more vegetables and yogurt and less bad stuff. But one area of contention that remains is my caffeine intake. I drink a LOT of coffee. Or I should say, I drank. I made the mistake of telling my daughter I wanted to give up coffee in the new year. Suddenly, I was doing it right now and cold turkey. Ouch.
Now my daughter knows she has me. She's the one who nagged me into quitting smoking. Luckily, she does allow me to have tea--and so far she's left my penchant for online poker alone.

Finally a Reiki Analogy that makes sense

Probably the most often asked question about Reiki other than what it is is how it works. I've seen several explanations but I think I've found the one I like best. I found this description over at Reiki4Life.
That's only part of the definition. To read the rest you've got to go to the source. Hope you love it as much as I do.
